About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject you will be able to demonstrate:

    1. competence in drama scriptwriting using recognised script presentation and development formats including the logline, screenplay design plan and draft script
    2. an ability to analyse the construction of a range of drama texts
    3. a capacity for independent problem solving.

    The subject will help develop the following analytical/critical evaluation/written communication skills:

    1. character construction 
    2. various approaches to the structure and construction of screen narratives 
    3. standard modes of script writing and formatting, including logline/screenplay design plan/draft and refined draft 
    4. script-editing/redrafting practices.
