About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject you will:

    1. be familiar with some key writers and movements in American literature from the late nineteenth century
    2. be able to make connections between American literary production and important trends in American culture and history
    3. be aware of comparative perspectives in literature
    4. have developed and refined their skills in literary and cultural analysis
    5. have refined their ability to write about literature and cultural history in an academic context.
