About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. explore the scholarship of teaching through the analysis of the theories, concepts and practices of teaching and assess the application to personal teaching circumstances
    2. assess the range of policies impacting on teaching and learning at a university and examine contemporary challenges to teaching and ways in which they can be overcome
    3. examine teaching strategies and select strategies appropriate to individual circumstances and/or discipline
    4. examine cycles of critical reflection and the role of student evaluation of teaching
    5. demonstrate an understanding of plagiarism, paraphrasing and the principles of Academic Integrity.
