About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

effectively interpret and evaluate financial information to inform management decisions in health service organisations

This subject was previously known as HTHM601 Health Services Management.
In this subject students will focus on health care organisations from a strategic and operational management perspective considering evidence informed decision making, financial and resource management and human resource management. Students will cultivate an understanding of the key components of both strategic and operations management for effective outcomes within health care systems and organisations. This subject encompasses the fundamentals to inform strategic decision making and the action required to determine organisational success. Current issues and trends which impact on the strategic and operations management of health services organisations will be considered. This will be achieved with students utilising a mixture of their own industry experience and scenario based learning to develop the skills to deal with real life strategic and operational situations.
