About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- identify the evolution of specialised construction techniques and how they are deployed in large projects
- evaluate application of management processes underlying specialised construction techniques
- select appropriate methods of applying specialised techniques.

In this subject, students will examine the techniques associated with the construction and management of a specialized building. Issues covered include advance construction techniques used in deep excavations, basement construction, dewatering, soil stabilisation, underpinning, remote sensing, actuation and automation techniques, temporary support and demolition.
