About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. synthesise the relevant epidemiological HIV/STI data from selected countries /commsubjecties to determine HIV/STI disease prevention and treatment priorities
    2. appraise the political and economic influences associated with the transmission, and responses to transmission, of HIV/STI in selected countries/commsubjecties
    3. analyse the social, cultural and gender issues associated with transmission dynamics in selected countries/communities
    4. summarise the best-known explanations for the nature and variation between HIV/STI epidemics throughout the world.
