About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. appraise literature and theory concerning effective assessment principles and practices
    2. examine classroom, state, national and international assessment practices
    3. construct a responsive assessment process which assesses, makes comparable judgements, provides feedback and reports on student learning
    4. demonstrate professional practices, knowledge and skills that support effective learning and teaching through the maintenance of positive learning environments that are designed to support the needs of diverse students.

Additional requirements

  • Placement requirements - This subject includes a 3-week professional experience placement in a school. Placements are undertaken on a full-time basis in a continuous block. Please note that all relevant, valid working with children checks and clearances must be provided as requested prior to commencement of the placement.
