About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. explain definitions and theoretical concepts of quality and safety in health
    2. apply tools techniques and methodologies to measure and improve quality and safety
    3. analyse the impact of human factors on outcomes in health care systems
    4. assess the extent to which organisation-related factors may be contributing to quality and safety approaches
    5. critically evaluate requirements for a comprehensive approach to management of quality and safety in healthcare organisations
    6. evaluate ways in which healthcare organisations can develop a coordinated, strategic approach to addressing quality and safety issues.
