About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. determine the economic, political and cultural factors contributing to the control of major diseases and illness in developing and developed countries
    2. critically examine the major patterns of morbidity and mortality in developed and developing countries
    3. appraise the particular health problems of deprived and isolated commsubjecties in both developed and developing countries
    4. critically review the characteristics, history and scope of primary health care with particular relevance to program policy, planning and evaluation in the control of major diseases and illnesses in developing and developed countries
    5. synthesise social science, epidemiological and biomedical approaches to analyse a primary health care program.
