An introduction to exploratory mapping and diagramming of key aspects of spatial design including planning, hierarchies and adjacencies. A hypothetical client is introduced to inform the formulation of a design brief and the idea of tailoring a design solution to an individual person, within a residential typology. Students will attend site visits to inform their conceptual and pragmatic development of their design projects across a series of milestones, starting with an initial concept and idea, progressing to a preliminary design solution, before developing it into a resolved proposition for residential occupation.
