About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. evaluate key HASS content and concepts
    2. develop resources and implement pedagogical strategies suitable for school students to improve engagement and learning in the HASS area
    3. develop instruction and assessment for the HASS area with an emphasis on inquiry learning and curriculum integration
    4. appraise the importance of values and civics in the curriculum.
    5. appraise contested histories and develop strategies for including ATSI perspectives when teaching HASS
