About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the concepts, substance and structure of the content and teaching strategies of the humanities
- implement strategies and develop resources suitable for school students to improve engagement and learning about the humanities
- plan instruction based on an inquiry approach to learning
- appraise the importance of values and civics within the humanities.

This subject will explore the key content and teaching strategies of the humanities. This will include an investigation of the Australian Curriculum learning areas of History and Geography, Economics and Business, and Civics and Citizenship for the primary school years. It will examine approaches to teaching, learning and assessment suited to the humanities, and how this subject integrates with other learning areas.
