About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. demonstrate knowledge of fundamental movement skills in children from birth to 8 years old
    2. design an integrated physical education program for young children
    3. critique documents and policies that influence and support the development of high quality health, social and emotional, linguistic, nutritional, cognitive and physical education programs in early childhood environments
    4. identify the principles underpinning child protection based on a sound pedagogical framework
    5. evaluate children’s needs and abilities related to health and physical education.
