About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. define public health and describe its origins, historical development and measurement
    2. identify, analyse and explain major public health determinants globally and with Indigenous people
    3. identify, analyse and critique the major elements of successful public health interventions globally and with Indigenous people
    4. analyse public health issues and discuss them in relation to current public health practices and perspectives
    5. analyse, critique and communicate an in-depth understanding of the relevant determinants and interventions for one public health issue of personal interest
    6. demonstrate an appropriate understanding of academic integrity principles and apply academic writing, referencing and acknowledgement conventions required for the discipline.
