Environmental Health Management
About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- evaluate the diverse topics and scientific disciplines that make up the critical knowledge base of environmental health
- examine the important chemical, physical and biological hazards in the environment and risk to health from environmental factors
- analyse the basic requirements for a healthy environment and how disturbances to the major environmental components may impact health outcomes
- assess the role of government and international agencies at various levels in managing environmental health.

- Air pollution (indoor and outdoor), water pollution, other health areas (food, noise)
- Wastewater management
- Solid waste management

This subject introduces a variety of environmental health issues, and examines their causes, health impacts and possible management strategies. Considers the dimensions of, and current trends in, environmental health and the roles of government and international agencies in environmental health management.
