About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. evaluate key content and concepts from HASS that are relevant to young children birth - 8 years from diverse contexts
    2. develop teaching and assessing skills which promote young children's learning skills as they hypothesise, investigate and problem solve through HASS curriculum
    3. devise an integrated program of learning experiences for young children to support their understanding of their world from a HASS perspective

    4. examine and critically reflect on the role of the educator in supporting children's understanding of diverse communities with particular attention to Aboriginal culture, heritage, and traditions; and how these ideas can be imbedded and valued in a variety of learning contexts
