About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. critique perspectives on teaching and learning of language and literacy in the early years
    2. interpret children’s learning in language and literacy events
    3. appraise the value of multi-literacies in sustaining children’s communications
    4. analyse the relationship between home literacy practices and the practices of early childhood settings
    5. design a literacy-rich environment for learning.

To enrol in this subject, you must be admitted into a degree.

You must have successfully completed the following subject(s) before starting this subject:

  • CUR-EDC231-Teaching Language and Literacy in Junior Primary (no longer available)

Others

You don't have to enrol in this subject if you have completed EDE106 Language and Multiliteracies (Birth-5 years) as they are considered equivalents.
