About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. describe current practices and techniques used to counteract deterioration of media and content in information centres
    2. evaluate the preservation needs of an information centre and develop a program
    3. understand the issues involved in the transition from paper assets and objects to digital information and the long term preservation of digital information
    4. develop an understanding of copyright law and digital preservation.
