About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- review and compare precedents to generate sequencing and ordering of formal and spatial relationships in response to brief, users, and built purpose
- critically evaluate complex design options in response to a decarbonised and sustainable agenda employing 2D and 3D manual and graphic techniques, to critically respond to site, functional requirements, and cultural contexts

This subject focuses on the conceptualisation, methodological development and design of conceptually and programmatically complex medium to large scale public building. A response that incorporates decarbonising strategies and sustainable design principles is incorporated into the project work. The design process will take account of multiple cultural perspectives, knowledges and contexts in the process of design and conceptualisation. Students will develop a critical position which will inform their design process. Work Integrated Learning will be incorporated throughout the subject by using a mode of teaching where design activity will take place in workshop situations / on sites / simulation of the real world project / interaction with community and industry.
