About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. explain the major current issues affecting the development and management of library collections, with particular reference to the Australian environment
    2. apply the theory and methodology of making quantitative and qualitative measures of collections
    3. explain the relationship between collection management and other areas of library operations
    4. recommend and select appropriate material for addition to particular collections
    5. assess alternative means of providing users with access to the information they require.
