About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. articulate the importance of collection development in the context of Australian library and information services
    2. apply and evaluate quantitative and qualitative methodologies to evaluate collections
    3. select and assess appropriate material for addition to particular collections
    4. communicate and interpret major current issues affecting the development and management of library collections.
