About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

- apply spatial typology to design a small building in context of a collective space
- situate and develop the design of a building in response to site, place and people.
- Spatial typologies
- Testing Space: Modelling
- Design through Plan
- Design through Section
- Design through Diagram
- Site
This subject was previously known as Architectural and Spatial Grammar Studio.
This subject introduces students to different spatial typologies and explores the relationship between site and people. The design proposition focuses on understanding spatial typologies and applying this knowledge to the design of a small building and a collective space in generic and suburban settings. Work integrated learning is incorporated through investigation of spatial typologies in a real site, and interaction with community, climate and environment.
This subject has BAS140 Architecture Habitation Studio and BAS145 Architectural Habitation Methods as mandatory prerequisites. If you have completed BAS140 prior to 2015, you are not required to enrol into BAS145 as BAS140 was previously counted as double subject. Please get a prerequisite waiver from Curtin to proceed with enrolment in BAS200.
*** Level 2 subjects normally assume an introductory level of prior knowledge in this area, e.g. from studying related Level 1 subjects or other relevant experience. Ensure all Level 1 subjects have been completed before moving to Level 2. ***
