About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- use 2D Digital techniques to communicate understanding of architectural conventions and concepts
- use appropriate methods and techniques to express aesthetic and sensual qualities of architecture and space
- critically analyse the process of design and architectural composition
- Computer Aided Drafting in 2D
- Representation of space, form and structure
- Photoshop and Digital Collage
This subject was previously known as Architecture Methods 2.
This subject develops an understanding of architectural design processes through an introduction to 2D CAD and architectural drawing conventions and visual literacy. Modelling, diagramming, digital collage and photography will be used for 2D and 3D architectural representation and visual communication of space, form, structure and material.

Students who have completed BAS140 PRIOR to 2015 are not required to enrol into BAS145 as it was previously counted as double subject.
Additional requirements
- Equipment requirements - Audio video equipment required. Access to hardware: webcam, speakers and microphone.
- Software requirements - Students are required to purchase or have access to the Adobe Creative Suite of programs, specifically Photoshop. The presentation techniques learned in this programs will be used throughout the Architecture Course.
- Other requirements - Additional materials. Access to the internet.
Study load
- 0.125 EFTSL
- This is in the range of 10 to 12 hours of study each week.
Equivalent full time study load (EFTSL) is one way to calculate your study load. One (1.0) EFTSL is equivalent to a full-time study load for one year.

Once you pass those subjects, you will satisfy the academic requirements for the degree, and you can apply for entry.
