About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- analyse a range of spatial typologies through conceptual propositions
- apply spatial typology to design a small building in context of a collective space
- situate and develop the design of a building in response to site, place and people.

This subject was previously known as Architectural and Spatial Grammar Studio.
This subject introduces students to different spatial typologies and explores the relationship between site and people. The design proposition focuses on understanding spatial typologies and applying this knowledge to the design of a small building and a collective space in generic and suburban settings. Work integrated learning is incorporated through investigation of spatial typologies in a real site, and interaction with community, climate and environment.
This subject has BAS140 Architecture Habitation Studio and BAS145 Architectural Habitation Methods as mandatory prerequisites. If you have completed BAS140 prior to 2015, you are not required to enrol into BAS145 as BAS140 was previously counted as double subject. Please get a prerequisite waiver from Curtin to proceed with enrolment in BAS200.

If you study the prerequisite subject(s) in the study period immediately prior to studying this subject, your result for the prerequisite subject(s) will not be finalised prior to the close of enrolment. In this situation, should you not complete your prerequisite subject(s) successfully you should not continue with your enrolment in this subject. If you are currently enrolled in the prerequisite subject(s) and believe you may not complete these all successfully, it is your responsibility to reschedule your study of this subject to give you time to re-attempt the prerequisite subject(s).
Others
Students who have completed BAS200 PRIOR to 2015 are not required to enrol into its co-requisite BAS205 as it was previously counted as double subject. From 2015, BAS205 must be enrolled at same time.
