About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- evaluate options related to legal, ethical and regulatory obligations relevant to contemporary professional practice in the discipline.
- assess the management and marketing practices in a range of industry settings.

This professional practice subject complements other professional practice studies to provide an overview of the skills, knowledge and processes required to establish and operate an architectural practice. The subject examines some of the key considerations in running an architectural business including writing a business plan, managing finances, assessing risk, negotiating contracts, marketing and assuring quality. This subject also provides an overview of building and construction law, and explores alternative career pathways related to the architectural profession.
