About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. choose, refine and carry out a coherent plan for a research/creative practice project
    2. find and understand varieties of scholarly literature, materials and sources relevant to the research
    3. analyse scholarly literature and materials relevant to the research or creative practice and apply findings in the research project plan
    4. develop scholarly or professional communication skills sufficient to express and manage complex ideas and arguments
    5. demonstrate advanced understanding of cultural, creative and/or technical aspects of the research area.

If you study the prerequisite subject(s) in the study period immediately prior to studying this subject, your result for the prerequisite subject(s) will not be finalised prior to the close of enrolment. In this situation, should you not complete your prerequisite subject(s) successfully you should not continue with your enrolment in this subject. If you are currently enrolled in the prerequisite subject(s) and believe you may not complete these all successfully, it is your responsibility to reschedule your study of this subject to give you time to re-attempt the prerequisite subject(s).

Students in the OM-NETSCM v3 Master of Digital and Social Media or OM-NETSCM v1&v2 Master of Internet Communications courses must have passed either NETS50012 MIC501 Web Communications OR NETS5013 MIC502 Digital Culture and Everyday Life, and have completed at least 100CP of units in their course to enrol in this unit.
Students in the OM-INFMGT1 Master of Information Management course must have passed, or be enrolled concurrently in INFO5030 INFM130 Information Theory and Research and have completed at least 200CP of units in their course to enrol in this unit.
