About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. develop a working basic understanding of the key concepts of Yolngu life
    2. develop a working understanding of the Yolngu mälk and gurrutu (kinship) systems
    3. develop a working knowledge of the sounds, spelling and pronunciation of the Yolngu languages
    4. develop a working knowledge of Yolngu grammar, and ability to use 'Grammar Lessons in Gupapuyngu' as a reference tool.
