About this subject

  • On successful completion of Health Promotion, students should be able to:

    1. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of health promotion theory and practice, and the role of health promotion in public health practice
    2. Distinguish between major health promotion frameworks, models and methods in terms of their features, application and limitations
    3. Explain how contextual factors, such as different population groups or settings, shape health promotion practice and influence outcomes
    4. Integrate theoretical and practical issues to effectively evaluate health promotion initiatives in terms of supporting evidence, approach or applicability
    5. Design and develop a health promotion initiative addressing a particular health need, using an approach appropriate to the circumstances
