Why study online?

For more than 20 years, we've helped to make university education available to people who might otherwise have had no (or very limited) access to it. Every day we work with students from all sorts of different backgrounds, so we know very well that no two learners are the same - and frankly we love that fact.

It's one of the reasons why we're not much into the idea of one size fits.

Shape your study to suit you

With OUA, for most units and courses, just about everything you need to learn is available online. You can watch lectures; participate in discussion forums; and research, write and submit assignments when and where it suits you.

That could be on the couch after you put the kids to bed. It could be on the train while you're commuting to and from work. It could be at the breakfast table, in the local park or at the beach. As long as you can access the internet, you can study through OUA.

Set your own pace

Your study timetable is just that: yours. We set some guidelines, and lock in things like exams, but you choose when to hit the books, when to work on essays or assignments and when to take a break.

We know that your work, your family and your social life don't stick to a neat routine – they'd probably be less interesting if they did. Things change – sometimes without warning. That's why we give you the opportunity to manage your study load, which is just a fancy way of saying studying at the pace that suits you.
