Fees & charges

Unit fees

At OUA, you pay for your studies on a unit-by-unit basis. However, fees may vary depending on your enrolment, including whether you're a domestic, international, or Commonwealth Supported Place student.

Domestic student fees

If you are an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen, or the holder of any category of permanent Australian visa you are considered to be a domestic student.

International student fees

An international student is any student who does not hold permanent residency in Australia and is a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand. Even if you have been granted temporary residency in Australia, you're still considered to be an international student.

As with domestic students, fees for international students vary depending on the units you're enrolled in.

Pricing information can be seen in the unit summary for the unit.

For example:

2017 fees

Domestic 2,893
HECS 1,324
International 3,143

Commonwealth Supported Place fees

Commonwealth Supported Place students have the Australian government cover a portion of their costs, which means that their fees, known as the student contribution amount, may be lower than standard domestic student fees.

The Australian Government groups different areas of study into 'bands'. Fees can vary according to the type of unit in which you enrol, and the applicable fee band. We've provided some information about bands in the following table. See Study Assist for more information about bands.

Band One Humanities, behavioural science, social studies, education (see Study Assist notes), clinical psychology, foreign languages, visual and performing arts, nursing (see Study Assist notes)
