This unit covers past learning environment research. Instruments for assessing learning environments. Qualitative approaches to the study of learning environments. Recent developments in classroom learning environment research.

At the completion of this unit students will be able to:

  1. describe the history of learning environment research
  2. critically analyse reports on learning environment research
  3. review, utilise and design instruments for use in learning environment research
  4. describe recent qualitative and quantitative methods used in research on learning environments
  5. plan a research study involving perceptions of learning environment.
