An introduction to building and infrastructure project development processes as well as urban planning processes. This will include project finance and appraisal methods, financial feasibility analysis of project development, life cycle costing principles and practice.

At the completion of this unit students will be able to:

  1. reflect upon building and infrastructure project development processes with consideration given to international and cultural perspectives
  2. compare project appraisal methods and evaluate project financial feasibility
  3. reflect upon the impact of urban planning on the building industry.
