An introduction to sources of law affecting building projects including the judicial system, common law and statute law, contract law and torts and dispute resolution.

At the completion of this unit students will be able to:

  1. describe the Australian legal system with particular reference to the construction industry
  2. apply concepts of the law of contract and tort to construction industry case studies
  3. evaluate alternative legal dispute resolution options on construction projects.
