This unit provides an opportunity for students to understand and be able to apply selected areas of contemporary international business theory, particularly those associated with cross-cultural management, and the challenges faced by organisations in developing economies. This unit provides an excellent opportunity to study international business practices and the challenges of economics, business and management issues in an emerging market country. Students will work in cross-cultural teams with a select group of industry partners to provide comprehensive and innovative solutions to real-world business challenges.

On successful completion of this unit you will be able to:

  1. critically analyse culturally variable business practices using an appropriate analytical model
  2. reflect on your own attitudes, value and beliefs
  3. identify potential barriers in cross-cultural communication
  4. assess the influence of cultural factors on the individual, on business and on professional behaviour
  5. analyse economic, business and financial systems
  6. work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
