This advanced unit covers the process of undertaking a research project in an OHSE management topic under supervision. This unit is equivalent to two normal units and builds on the materials studied throughout the course, especially in MGMT617 Research Methods. There are no formal lectures in this unit, however, the student is expected to identify a research project topic, conduct a literature review, develop research questions, select an appropriate methodology, develop a short project proposal, collect data, analyse data, derive suitable findings from the data, and present the project in a research project report.

Upon successful completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. design and conduct an OHSE-based project
  2. conduct a literature search
  3. conduct an appropriate research methodology to a specific topic
  4. analyse issues of OHSE that are of relevance to the students' background or work experience
  5. report on an OHSE-based project.
