This advanced unit covers the management principles and the auditing requirements of an effective OHSE management system, with emphasis on the systems specified in the latest editions of management standards.  Planning and conducting OHSE management systems audits (based on the latest edition of AS/NZS ISO 19011 Guideslines for Quality and/or Environmental Management Systems Auditing. Audit frameworks, the audit process, collecting evidence, audit skills, audit reporting adn leading audit teams are some of the topics in this unit.

On successful completion of this unit you should be able to:

  1. Analyse  impacts of adverse effects on health and environment with in organisations
  2. Control OHSE risks to health or environment in organisations
  3. Understand the principles of risk management
  4. Understand concepts of OHS and environmental management in a legislative context
  5. Understand OHSE concepts and language sufficient to the able to communicate effectively with OHSE professionals about measuring OHSE MS perfornamce
  6. Outline the steps of an OHSE audit
  7. Create an OHSE audit tool
  8. Practice personal attributes necessary for the effective and efficient conduct of a management system audit
  9. Conduct an OHSE audit
  10. Understand the role of an audit team leader
