This unit will help you to develop and practise the skills and strategies you need for success in the IELTS Reading test. You will learn the format of the Reading test, the different question types and strategies for reading and locating answers quickly. This unit provides over 60 IELTS reading activities and focus materials to develop your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary. Throughout the unit you will receive extensive feedback, helpful hints, strategies for understanding and locating answers in a passage and explanations of correct and incorrect answers. It should take you approximately 25 hours of online study to complete the unit materials.

Access Time: 30 days from the date of first login to the unit.

Additional Information: The IELTS Master Reading unit uses Adobe Reader for the Workbook and the printable version of the Study Plan. Many computers already have Adobe Reader installed, but if not, full instructions on how to download this for free are provided within the course.

Suitable for Academic or General Training IELTS exam preparation.

In the IELTS Master Reading unit you will:

  1. learn the format of the Reading test
  2. become familiar with and practise different question types
  3. learn strategies for reading and locating answers quickly.

You can also complete a practise Reading test. This is recommended but not compulsory. Because this unit is a non-award unit, there are no compulsory assignments to be submitted and no final exam.

Assessment details, including dates, word limits and topics, will be provided in your study materials.

You should have at least an intermediate level of English (approximately IELTS Band 5 or TOEFL PBT 520 or iBT 68).
