This unit introduces sports coaches to the fundamental principles of human resource management, including principles of group and organisational design, public relations, integrating sport specialist human resources, international sport regimes and compliance, as well as risk management and legal matters in high performance sport.

At the completion of this unit students will be able to:

  1. understand and apply specific conceptual elements of organisational theory and human resource management in coaching organisations
  2. apply conceptual understanding to the design of coaching organisations, to understand how organisation structures change, and how to deal with that change
  3. identify, reflect on and consider application of skills that deal with management matters and negotiation/conflict resolution techniques.
