Application of information theories, principles and technology in resource description and access in libraries and information centres. Development of skills in resource description and access through the use of classification and subject schemes.

  1. analyse a range of information objects and provide resource descriptions using international conventions
  2. classify and index resources using international conventions
  3. apply theoretical frameworks of information organisation and retrieval
  4. create products based on international conventions.
