This unit aims to equip students with the skills and understanding to create a dynamic website that leverages a commonly deployed Content Management System (CMS). Through the development of an e-commerce website, students will gain experience in creating a commercially-oriented project while drawing upon previously learned skills in interactivity design to build a compelling front-end interface for a small to medium business.

At the completion of this unit students will be able to:

  1. analyse existing websites for key features
  2. use a variety of techniques to create sophisticated websites
  3. use an appropriate content management system to create a dynamically populated website
  4. learn the advantages of creating a your own content management system 'from scratch'
  5. design and build appropriate custom interfaces for commonly used content management systems.
