This unit identifies the various technical systems and issues surrounding innovative and efficient approaches and strategies to designing technology for integration into designed interiors. With particular attention to acoustics, lighting and ventilation.   Documentation and model making methods of technical construction, structure and materials within systems are integrated. Site visits may be included.

At the completion of this unit students will be able to:

  1. analyse issues and constraints surrounding the flexible nature of the built interior within the context of the 21st Century
  2. solve complex design issues using innovative strategies that improve the integration of technological systems
  3. synthesise knowledge of international and local design methods to create and document a sustainable interior system.
