This unit explores the context within which the practice of Interior Architecture necessarily exists. It comprises a series of workshops, lectures and tutorial exercises that draw on expert practitioners and case studies to develop the student's awareness and understanding of various aspects of IA practice including specifications, risk management, procurement, client relations, insurances, management, financial management working with consultants, Universal Access, and BCA compliance.

At the completion of this unit students will be able to:

  1. identify, evaluate and communicate effective management strategies for Interior Architecture practice
  2. identify, evaluate and communicate compliance aspects of Interior Architecture practice
  3. explore and demonstrate effective communication strategies relevant to the complexities of Interior Architecture practice (client, consultant, colleague)
  4. develop and demonstrate Interior Architecture discipline knowledge.
