The BAS Agent Registration Requirements are comprised of two units which form the skill set needed for agents qualified to file Business Activity Statements with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Upon completion of the two units, students will be eligible for registration with the ATO as a recognised BAS Agent.
Completing the BAS Agent Registration Requirements is useful knowledge for students seeking to develop a career in accounting or business, as well as small business owners and sole traders seeking the skills to handle their own BAS procedures.
The two units that make up the Registration Requirements are:
- FNSBKPG404A Carry out business activity and instalment activity statement tasks
- FNSBKPG405A Establish and maintain a payroll system
It is recommended that students study both units within one Study Period, as they contain complementary information.
Both of these units will be available for enrolment from Tuesday 2 August, and will be offered in Study Periods 3 and 4 in 2011.
Students interested in studying the BAS Agent Requirements have the following Study Period enrolment date options:
- Study Period 3 - Close of Enrolment 14 August 2011 (enrolments for the BAS Agent Registration Requirements only have been extended to 25 August 2011)
- Study Period 4 - Close of Enrolment 13 November 2011
