Australia’s leaders in online training are proud to announce that the organisations Executive General Manager for Industry and Training has been awarded Victorian Manager of the Year at the prestigious Australian Institute of Management’s (AIM) annual Excellence Awards.

Open Universities Australia’s (OUA) Carlos Schafer oversees the operations of Open Training Institute, e3 Learning and Institutional Sales for the entire OUA Group.

“I’m yet to discover who nominated me but I’m very honoured to have been recognised for this award,” says Mr Schafer.

“For me the key to success is all about nurturing relationships. If you have a vision and you want people to come on the journey then you must inspire them to do so, which means recognising hard work and showing that you care.”

OUA CEO, Paul Wappett, says that he was delighted to hear the news about Mr Schafer’s win.

“The AIM Excellence Awards is all about recognising Victoria’s best and brightest managers so this is a huge honour for Carlos and for OUA.”

“He is a highly respected member of the OUA team and I’m very proud to see Carlos formally recognised for his dedication to the business, particularly at such an esteemed event and amongst such a high calibre of finalists.”

The winners of the Victorian Excellence Awards will now have an opportunity to vie for the ultimate prize at the National Excellence Awards in Melbourne on October 16.
