Open Universities Australia (OUA) today launches the first instalment of its online Leadership Series.

The online videos feature four key speakers: Olympic gold medallist Lydia Lassila, Geelong midfielder Jimmy Bartel, acclaimed businesswoman Ita Buttrose and Westfield Matildas Sarah Walsh.

Each speaker discusses the essential qualities of leaders, who they look up to as role models of good leadership and in some cases, how they juggle online study so they can be leaders off the field too.

The first video, featuring new mum, Winter Olympian and OUA Education Ambassador, Lydia Lassila is available for viewing today, along with an introductory video that provides an overview of what's to come over the next few months.

The videos can be viewed by contacting OUA's Media Contact.

According to Lassila, she feels a certain responsibility to act as a leader by giving back to her sport and help propel Australian aerial skiing further onto the world stage.

When asked to describe who or what comes to mind when she thinks about an ideal leader, Lassila says, "A leader definitely has to have passion about what they do."

The series will continue with a new video released each month:
