Open Universities Australia (OUA) today announced the appointment of Peter McMahon to Executive Director, Marketing, Sales and Digital.

OUA CEO Stuart Hamilton said, "We are delighted that Peter has joined the team. He will be an integral part of OUA's future success in digital, marketing, sales and alternative channels, to which he will bring a wealth of knowledge."

"In 2010, OUA's new enrolments were up 36% from 2009 and four times the enrolment numbers from five years ago demonstrating our continued commitment to providing quality tertiary education to more Australians," Mr Hamilton said.

Peter replaces former Executive Director of Business Development, Cratis Hippocrates.

Peter's background spans a broad spectrum of industries and disciplines. He founded his own company in 2009, Affiniti Digital and previously was Group Manager - Interactive Strategy for Tatts Group Limited, before which he had a number of roles in Tattersall's with responsibility for the creation and evolution of Tattersall's revenue-generating online channels.

Prior to Tatts Group, Peter held senior roles with Emitch, Australian Financial Review and WSA Media.
