As part of our commitment to empowering everyone to study, we offer a range of alternative format study materials, including:

  • Braille;
  • E-text;
  • DAISY format;
  • Large print; and
  • Lecture transcripts

How to get support

To get the support you need to study online through OUA, it's important to allow enough time to have your alternative format study materials organised. So it's essential to:

  • Enrol at least one Study Period in advance;
  • When you're enrolling, either online or using our paper enrolment form (PDF), complete the disability support questions; then
  • Contact your course or unit provider to organise your alternative format study materials.

If we can give you a hand with anything, please contact one of our Student Advisors on 1300 363 652 or via our Online Enquiry Form.

Arranging your exams

If you're a student with special needs, you can apply to have them accommodated when sitting a supervised exam organised by OUA Exam Services.

You may also apply for an Alternative Assessment Arrangement (AAA) by contacting your course or unit provider as early as possible to discuss any special needs that can be accommodated under AAA. You will also need to complete a Medical Evidence Form (PDF) with supporting evidence from a recognised practitioner and send these to your provider.

Your provider will then advise whether your application was approved, and will work with OUA Exam Services to ensure your requirements are met.
