Here are the important dates to keep in mind when enrolling, swapping units or considering withdrawing from a unit.

Don't be caught out by missing key dates that affect your study program. It is important to keep track of the dates that determine your academic Study Periods or Sessions. Key dates include the Close of Enrolment, Census Date and academic events such as exams. Don't forget to use your 2012 Study Planner to get yourself organised from the start. It will pay off in the end!

Exams are usually held in the week following the end of each Study Period or Session. Find out more in the Exams key dates.

* Census Date

The deadline date after which students are liable for their Commonwealth assistance FEE-HELP loans. After the Census Date students cannot receive a refund or a remission of their debt unless they can demonstrate Special Circumstances.

Restricted program application date

The close of application date for a restricted program is usually 2 weeks prior to the close of enrolment date for the study term you are applying for. However always check the course page for clarification about your program.

Planning your study

Staying organised is the key to academic success. Use the OUA Study Planner to keep track of your important dates, deadlines and priorities.

To make the most of the Study Planner:

  1. Download the PDF files for your Study Periods/Sessions
  2. Open the files using Adobe Acrobat Reader. (You can download Acrobat Reader for free)
  3. Enter your important dates by clicking on the calendar and typing in the relevant box. For example, if you have an assignment due on 6 May, simply click on that date in the Study Planner and make a note of it
  4. Save, update and print your Study Planner whenever you want
  5. Click on any of the handy links in the Study Planner to be taken to useful areas of the OUA website
