Get prepared for online learning
Setting realistic expectations and developing study skills in areas such as researching, academic writing, referencing critical thinking and analysis are essential to successful study at tertiary level. We offer specific tutor-facilitated Preparatory units, including OUA Enabling units that will assist you in this task and some self-paced resources to help you enhance your skills in academic writing and critical thinking.
We also have a range of Suggested first units, which provide general study skills knowledge and experience, as well as subject-specific preparation for the particular area of study you wish to undertake.
Learning is your personal journey. Find what works best for you, discover greater enjoyment in your studies and be rewarded with better results.
Networking
Distance learning can sometimes feel isolating. Having a support network will help you close the gap and enjoy your learning experience. Networking with other students is also a great way to share study tips on preparing for exams, managing your time and tackling assignments. You can connect with other OUA students in the OUA student community forum and network with fellow students in your unit through the study contacts list.
