About Commonwealth supported places
Commonwealth supported places is a new way to study with OUA. In addition to our unit-by-unit study options, we now provide access to Commonwealth supported places for students enrolling in full degree courses who meet the eligibility criteria.
A Commonwealth supported place (CSP) is a Federal Government initiative where the majority cost of your undergraduate studies is covered by the Australian Government.
So you get the best of both worlds - the same high quality online learning opportunities through OUA including support and advice from your chosen university, lower unit fees for many subjects plus degree registration fees are waived for Commonwealth supported students. Eligible students can also receive further assistance with their student contribution through HECS-HELP
To be eligible for Commonwealth support, you must be:
- An Australian citizen OR;
- A New Zealand citizen who will be residing in Australia for the duration of your study OR;
- The holder of a permanent visa who will be residing in Australia for the duration of your study.
- Able to meet the university course admission criteria. Click on the courses listed below for more details.
For more information on the eligibility requirements and payment options available including the process for applying for HECS-HELP assistance, download the official information booklet and refer to the relevant course pages. For additional information, visit the Study Assist website.
Alternatively if you do not wish to apply as a Commonwealth supported place student or are not eligible, you can still apply to study any of the courses or units within the listed courses below. Just click on the Course units tab of the course page to find out how.
